I've just found out I've been nominated for the Excessively Diverting Blog Award by Marilyn Braun over at Marilyn's Royal Blog. I must say that this is a pleasant surprise and of all the plaudits I've received during MY lifetime, this is the most delightful. Having ones image appear on stamps, coins and tacky souvenirs wears off after a while.

Like Marilyn, I'm going to cut and paste the blurb about this award. At MY age I think I've earned the right to do so.

"Started by the blogging team at Jane Austen Today the "aim of the Excessively Diverting Blog Award is to acknowledge writing excellence in the spirit of Jane Austen’s genius in amusing and delighting readers with her irony, humor, wit, and talent for keen observation. Recipients will uphold the highest standards in the art of the sparkling banter, witty repartee, and gentle reprove."

So now I need to award this to other blogs. This shouldn't be too hard. If I can knight and give out Maundy Money, I'm sure I can come up with 7 deserving blogs.

1) She already has the badge, but I'm going to nominate Marilyn's Royal Blog. Fun and witty, I always learn something new about MY family when I visit. Highly enjoyable even if Marilyn does occasionally take liberty with her Survivor Balmoral episodes.

2) The Royal Representative - So loyal, so informative. I'm happy that Mandy is on MY side.

3) Mad Hattery! It's always nice to get an honest opinion about ones fashion choices

4) Strawberry Lane - I love reading about her horses, Royal and Ebony.

5) Merry Royals - It's always nice to read about ones family. I found her post about Royal Birthday's particularly useful.

6) The Kate Middleton Report - I'm supposed to be impartial, but between you and ME, I'm really rooting for her.

7) Princess Eugenie - If I want to find out where Eugenie is, I go here. That girl doesn't write or call nearly as much as I'd like.

Now I need to cut and paste again:

Recipients, please claim your award by copying the HTML code of the Excessively Diverting Blog Award badge, posting it on your blog, listing the name of the person who nominated you, and linking to their blog. Then nominate seven other blogs that you feel meet or exceed the standards set forth. Nominees may place the Excessively Diverting badge in their side bar and enjoy the appreciation of their fellow blogger for recognition of their talent.

I'm off to tea now!

Your Majesty,

How delightful to receive such an honorable award from your Royal Highness. I thank you very much.

We all admire you so much and enjoy reading about the events in your life.

However, I'm sorry to say that there are some in your family that need more "time out" in the castle.

Faithfully,
Mrs. Ramsbottom at Strawberry Lane
